For some it creates interest, inspiration, or relaxation, for some annoyance; my artwork travels between uncomfortable and contemplative, addressing and exploring long lasting imprint of a human being. Naturally drawn to colours and lines from an early age, inspired by words, extensive shapes, and very petite ones, my imagination extract those and create compositions exploring the social and the cultural influences. I play with elements, mood, sound, and a space, often with found objects. Some elements travel and transform throughout the projects. My family history and my personal close relationships throughout life with trauma, pain and a diversity drawing most of my reflections in artwork, as much as creating discussions of the role of art. I often employ art as a re-balancing element in my life. Healing from traumatic experiences while being a single parent to my son from his early age, studying and with a little help and on unknown land was the toughest challenge. By being a bit of psychology freak and a detective, I exploit those experiences additionally exploring art therapies and mental health disorders. My website: www.alekska.com
